The God of Beginnings and the God of Beginners

In the process of God creating the Heavens and the Earth, the Earth had no apparent order; darkness covered the [invisible] surface of the abyss, and God's breeze hovered over the face of the waters. (Genesis 1:1-2 — Personal translation and paraphrase of the Hebrew text).

What always moves me deeply in the first two verses of the book of Genesis is that God Himself dares to begin (to take the lead). Where we apparently see only darkness, no definite forms, no faces, and a terrifying height or depth, there is a potential for life that we do not suspect because we cannot see it. We feel like we are in a dark hole; we are aware that something is in process, but we do not know what. Conventional wisdom would suggest waiting to see a little more clearly before deciding.

For 2026, I made only one good decision: as much as I can, I will try to begin again, at every moment, every day. The God of Beginnings is also the God of Beginners! God took me at my word.

My First Big Flop of 2026

My "beginner dream" for 2026 was the launch of my blog. Imagine launching the blog at 00:00h in Lima! To be completely honest, I ran a discreet test drive online before my romantic launch: it was a big flop. So many error messages appeared that I had to search for the mistakes and figure out how to fix them. So, I took it down. Do not ask me what URL slugs are, but they were part of the difficulties.

I also had to cancel the registration process for accessing posts in the English and Spanish versions of the site; it would have led to much more confusion. All blog posts will now be public. When the blogs (English and Spanish) are fully functional, you will receive a notification of each new post in the form of a personal email.

Happy New Year to all of you! Let’s be “beginners” together with the God of Beginnings.
